Loopy is designed to keep user data on the user’s device whenever possible. Most data created or imported in Loopy is stored locally. Selected data may also be backed up to iCloud, exported, shared, or sent to external websites and services as described below.
This Privacy Policy explains how Loopy handles data. External websites and services opened through Loopy are governed by their own privacy policies.
Loopy does not require account registration.
The developer does not operate a server to collect or store your learning content, browsing history, recordings, or imported files. Supported iCloud backups are stored through Apple’s services, as described in Section 6.
The current version of Loopy does not use advertising identifiers, cross-app tracking, or developer-operated analytics services. The developer does not sell or rent user data.
When you voluntarily contact the developer by email, your email address and the information included in that communication may be used to respond to your inquiry or provide support.
Loopy may store the following data locally on your device:
Loopy uses purchase and original app acquisition information provided by Apple’s StoreKit to verify access and trial eligibility. Trial-use records may be stored in secure device storage to prevent repeated use of a previously activated trial.
App Store payments are handled by Apple. Loopy does not directly receive or store full payment-card information.
Loopy may request access to the following device features:
Permissions can be managed through the device’s Settings app where supported. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working.
Loopy does not use the camera in the current version.
Loopy may use Apple platform features, including Vision and Translation, to recognize or translate text from subtitles, selected video frames, web page snapshots, or text selected by the user.
Some language resources may be downloaded or managed by iOS according to Apple’s policies and device settings.
Loopy may also download model files from Hugging Face. Model downloads may send ordinary network request information, such as an IP address, to the download provider.
After the required models have been downloaded, supported speech-recognition, subtitle-generation, and waveform-analysis processing is performed locally on the device. Loopy does not upload the user’s audio, video, or recordings to Hugging Face for this processing.
Generated results are stored locally unless supported data is included in a backup or the user exports, shares, or sends the results to an external service.
Loopy includes a browser and web lookup features that allow users to open external websites, dictionaries, translation services, search engines, video-expression services, AI services, and custom URLs.
When the user selects an external provider, Loopy may send the selected word, sentence, example, search query, or user-configured prompt to that provider as part of the requested web address or web page interaction.
Examples may include:
Loading a web page, including a preset or restored browser tab, may send ordinary web request information to that website.
External services may receive the user’s IP address, cookies, login state, browser information, search terms, prompts, or other submitted content. They may also display advertisements, use trackers, or store website data according to their own privacy policies.
Loopy does not control the privacy practices, content, security, or availability of external websites.
Loopy may request website icons through Google’s favicon service. When this occurs, the domain or host of the website and ordinary network request information may be sent to Google.
When web media or subtitle features are used, Loopy may request subtitle, caption, media, or related metadata URLs required to provide playback and learning features.
Cookies, cache, login sessions, and other website data may be stored locally by WebKit until the user clears that data, the website removes it, or the app is deleted.
Loopy supports backup-file export and iCloud backup and restoration for selected app data.
When iCloud is available, supported backup data may be uploaded to private iCloud storage associated with the user’s Apple Account. Automatic backup is enabled by default and can be turned off in Settings → Data Management → iCloud Backup. Users can also create, restore, and delete backups from that screen.
Depending on the backup method and supported features, backups may include:
Backup metadata, such as the device name, device or installation identifier, and backup date, may also be stored to organize backups and support restoration.
The current backup format does not include original video, audio, or subtitle files, learning boards, shadowing recording files, downloaded models, cookies, or cache.
iCloud backups are saved restore points and do not continuously synchronize all app data between devices. Backup availability depends on iCloud settings, storage, network connectivity, and operating-system conditions.
When users export or share a backup file, they choose its destination through the iOS system interface. Files may be stored in the Files app or another selected app or service.
Data stored in iCloud or another external destination is subject to that provider’s applicable settings and privacy policy.
Local app data is generally retained until the user deletes it, clears the relevant data, or removes the app.
Deleting the app generally removes data stored inside its local container. However, the following may remain:
Users can turn off automatic iCloud backup and delete existing Loopy iCloud backups from Settings → Data Management → iCloud Backup. Turning off automatic backup does not itself delete existing backups.
Trial-use records may remain after app deletion to prevent a previously used trial from restarting after reinstallation.
Deleting a record or file in Loopy does not necessarily remove earlier backups, exported copies, or copies held by external services. Those copies may need to be deleted separately.

Depending on the features used, Loopy may interact with Apple platform services, Google services, OpenAI services, Hugging Face, and other external websites.

Users should review the privacy policy of any external website or service they use through Loopy.
Loopy is designed to minimize unnecessary transmission of user data. Learning data is primarily stored on the device, with supported iCloud backups and external-service interactions described in this policy.
However, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting access to their device, Apple Account, external website accounts, exported files, and backup files.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Loopy’s features, data practices, third-party services, or legal requirements change.
The latest version will be published at the Privacy Policy URL associated with Loopy, with an updated revision date. Additional notice or consent will be provided where required.
